Ticket Details
Prices, duration, format, and more!
Hi all,
The email you’ve all been waiting for. Let’s get right into it!
Prices
Weekend tickets, granting access for both convention days, are $75 CAD. Saturday-only tickets are $45 and Sunday-only tickets are $40. We regret that tickets have increased in price, but a multi-day convention increases costs significantly, and we need to compensate.
Sales Page
Like previously, tickets will be sold through our Simpli Events page. (Simpli Events is a Canadian competitor to Eventbrite with lower fees for buyers.) In 2025, DashCon 2 tickets sold out very quickly, and the website was overwhelmed, causing it to crash for a few minutes. Fortunately, as a small company, DashCon 2 and Simpli Events have consistently communicated, and Simpli Events has taken steps to avoid another crash. The website should be able to handle more traffic when tickets go live.
Tickets will open for sale on March 1st at 12:00 PM EST.
Quantity
DashCon 2 is increasing its ticket numbers only slightly. This may come as a disappointment to some; tickets were hard enough to acquire last year. We sincerely apologize for the mad scramble.
To be transparent, the DashCon 2 team did very little planning for what a second convention would look like in advance of the first convention, because we didn’t want to get our hopes up. We needed to know for certain that this was a reasonable path to embark on before taking on the administrative labour of planning a whole second convention. If we wanted to really scale up capacity we would need a bigger venue, and therefore would have needed to book larger convention space more than a year in advance. That was just not possible at the time.
We estimated that we could scale up in capacity if we delayed the follow-up convention to 2027, or scale up in duration for 2026. Our decision is to do both; DashCon 2 will be about the same size but two days long in 2026 (Sat-Sun, Aug 1-2), and expand in both duration and capacity at a larger venue in 2027.
Tickets are divided into three types: Weekend, Saturday, and Sunday. 450 Weekend tickets will be made available, as well as 200 Saturday tickets and 100 Sunday tickets. These numbers are very small, and we completely understand wanting to avoid a kerfuffle and waiting to buy a ticket in 2027.
Duration
DashCon 2 will run on Saturday from around 10 AM to late in the evening, and Sunday will begin at around the same time and go until the late afternoon/early evening. How late the proceedings last into the evening on either day will depend entirely on programming, which is still being worked out.
Regardless of start time, the convention’s doors will open 30 minutes early on both days for folks with reduced mobility/other accessibility requirements.
Format
Instead of wristbands, we are opting for standard PVC convention badges in 2026. All rules of convention wristbands apply to badges; i.e. they do not need to be worn around the neck, but must be physically visible on the body at all times, irrespective of cosplay.
Accessibility
DashCon 2 offers a variety of accessibility accommodations to reduce barriers for disabled attendees. This year, accessibility wristbands will be replaced with accessibility stickers that will go on top of badges. (The three types of badges will be distinct enough in colour that covering up part of the badge with a sticker is not of concern.) More information on accessibility stickers will come soon, and if you have any questions, feel free to message accessibility@dashcontwo.com.
As always, thank you for your steadfast support of DashCon 2 :)
